I would just like to share my first ever Maid-Sama (and anime) AMV 😀 (sorry for the glitches, I think it was because of the way I cut the videos xP)
I’m quite inspired to do another Fan Vid, Saiunkoku Monogatari perhaps? 🙂
This will be short xD
If you want to know more about the manga, going to Wikipedia will help =P
I DL-ed this anime months ago but I only watched it last month (it was sitting in my HD for quite sometime ne?). I did try to watch it months ago but I was, for some reason, annoyed at Misaki (the lead girl). She was supposed to be a tough girl, but everytime Usui gets near her, all she did was to blush profusely (it was acceptable the first few times, but every freakin time?!).
Then I attempted to watch it again last month. And I liked it better. I got used to Misa-chan’s blush but I think it can be attributed to Usui. I love the guy. LOL. If it wasn’t for him, I would have given this anime up. They are quite a pair 🙂 And Usui Takumi is one fine man. He’s got it all. He’s currently in my top 5 favorite anime male characters.
I read the manga after I finished the anime, and I liked it. That’s saying something right?

Set in the fictional empire of Saiunkoku, the story centers on Shurei Hong, a descendant of a noble family that has fallen on hard times.
Her father works as a librarian in the Imperial palace, a post which offers prestige and respect, but little compensation. Shurei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women.
Shurei’s plans come to an abrupt halt when the Emperor’s Grand Advisor makes a startling offer for her to join the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor’s consort and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. If she succeeds, the financial reward will be great.
The story details Shurei’s growing relationship with the Emperor and other members of the court, the intrigues of imperial politics, and her commitment to better herself and her country. (source: wikipedia)

Never in my wildest dreams have I imagined actually watching this anime, but I’m glad I did…

Skip-Beat! is about Kyoko Mogami, a wistful yet cheery sixteen year-old girl who loves her childhood friend, Shotaro, but is cruelly betrayed and thus seeks revenge against him. She used to spend a lot of time at Shotaro’s parents’ inn and learned a lot about housekeeping, hostelry, and other feminine jobs (sewing, cooking, serving tea traditionally, etc.). Shotaro, not wishing to take over his parents’ inn, becomes bored of living in Kyoto and decides to move to Tokyo to pursue a career in music. Sho, as he is called by his fans, asks Kyoko to leave high school in Kyoto Prefecture and her life behind to help him.
Upon arrival in Tokyo, Kyoko lives an unreasonably frugal life, spending nothing on herself and doing whatever she can for the freeloading Sho, who eventually becomes ranked seventh in the top twenty most popular entertainers of Japan. One day, however, as Kyoko brings Sho his lunch at a company building, she overhears Shotaro complaining about her to his manager, saying that she is a boring and plain girl with no sex appeal that he’d like to cast away. He then proceeds to sweet-talk and flirt with his manager, in stark contrast to the cold and demanding attitude he usually exhibits towards Kyoko. Unlike other heroines in the same situation, Kyoko doesn’t shed many tears when she learns that Sho thinks she’s only good for housekeeping. Instead, her “Pandora’s box” opens and she vows vengeance on Sho. Enraged, Kyoko attempts to attack Sho, but is instantly carried off by security. Sho mockingly tells her that if she wants revenge, she had better become a bigger star than him. And so, Kyoko, vowing revenge, changes her appearance and enters the entertainment business, facing many challenges along the way. Skip Beat! follows Kyoko’s journey to climb the showbiz ladder as she meets interesting people, in the hopes of getting revenge on Shotaro, but also in order to get back her sense of compassion that she had lost when her heart was broken by Sho. Again, it is one of my roommate’s influence why I watch Skip Beat (SB).
Before watching SB my roommate told me about its summary and somehow, I was attracted to the story, and so I tried the anime. I may say that the story is quite good plus after finishing the whole anime, I found myself desperately reading the continuation of it in the manga (which means that it is indeed interesting).
SB mostly deals about acting. At first I was expecting that it will revolve more on the story of Kyoko having her revenge on Sho (or to put it simply, there should be ‘romantic scenes’) but I was wrong, since in most of the episodes it deals with Kyoko’s struggle to become a known artist. In the anime, it took about 3-4 episodes for an acting concept (or would you call it an arc?) to finish. However, there were times that some of the scenes bore me because honestly I was in for the ‘romance’, and there were a few hints of it (leading me to disappointment).
As for Ren and Sho, argggggghhhhhhhhhh, I can’t honestly choose who Kyoko should end up with, as of now I’m all for Ren, and I think it will be Ren in the end (though there’s a part of me wishing it’ll be Sho, ‘coz it’ll be cuter ^^).
About the manga, it is still ongoing, and there have been a lot of development. And I heard there will be a Taiwanese adaptation (& some say japanese too) of Skip Beat, with Ariel Lin & Jerry Yan as the main casts, I still have my doubts on whether it will be good, but let’s just wait and see 🙂
Overall, for me, Skip Beat’s okay, a little bit over the average anime/manga for me (see I have my own taste of an anime).
About the last sentence above, I would like to change that. SKIP BEAT is one of my favorite anime/mangas (the other one would be Gakuen Alice).
I realized belatedly that Skip Beat is the type of anime that gets better when you re-watched it. To date, I have watched it four times, and I’m in my second re-reading of the manga. If before I was complaining about the lack of romance in the anime, now I don’t even care. I’m more interested in Kyoko’s quest to become a star. Though I still crave for Ren x Kyoko moments.
Another thing, Kyoko became my favorite female anime character. I like her so much 🙂 I wish they would already make the second season, if they are waiting for the manga to finish then what would that leave us (the fans)? I personally think that if they are worrying whether the manga’s chapters (after the anime) are enough to fill a 26-episode anime, then they can forget about it. With all the story arcs presented, the can even make a third season already. And given Skip Beat’s popularity among the manga readers, season 2 should be well on its way.
I don’t know why but I found myself wanting to watch Cinderella Monogatari early this morning.
Guess what? I just finished the whole anime today. Which is not surprising because it’s only 26 episodes long (20 mins each).
And might I say that this anime never fail to make me cry and feel in love.
I can still remember that this was shown in the Philippines when I was still a kid, from what I read, it was around 1999 when C.M. was shown here, and yeah, I think that’s also the time when I first watched it.
10 years after that, here I am rewatching one of my favorite morning cartoons of all time 🙂 Gosh. Can you believe it? I was still young then, I was in my third grade in elementary, and now I’m in my third year as a college student. It brings back a lot of memories. I remember I was not able to watch this anime completely because of school. I’m super happy that someone UL-ed it in YT, and it’s tagalog dubbed. LOL.
All throughout the episodes I was laughing, ‘coz yeah sometimes the scenes are so corny but yet corny as it may seem it will bring happiness to any kid who watches it (and teens, adults for that matter)
JK.
bro: “yuck, pinapanood mo yan?”
ako: “omg, anu ba, wag kayong maglandian (ref. to Leonard & Cinderella)” *sabay takip ng mata*
bro: “e bakit mo pinapanood?”
:)) only proves na batang isip talaga ako, at di pa ako nagmamature.
sabi ko on break muna ako sa panonood pero exception ito, haha. kailangan ko lang ilabas. ^^
sino nakakaintindi sa akin? sino may same feeling? magcomment kayo, haha. sorry baliw lang xD
p.s. medyo parang ewan yung ending madami akong hinaing, like, bakit di masyadong nilagyan ng drama yung pagkakadiscover ni Leonard kay Cinderella bilang yung mystery girl niya? and bakit ‘di pinakita na minahal ni Leonard si Cinderella before pa mareveal yung identity niya (basta yun na yun), and do you think nung night ng ball naisip kaya ni Leonard si Cinderella? bakit di man lang binanggit. wahahaha. okay, i’ll stop

Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. The story begins during an exchange of ghost stories between Mai and her friends, who are interrupted twice: first by a mysterious “male student” and then by a fellow classmate, who warns them of how their ghost stories attract spirits.
While out walking, Mai sees the building that all the ghost stories surround and decides to go in. As she is about to touch a camera she found in the middle of the room, a man stops her and ends up injuring himself. Mai is then forced to work as a stand-in assistant for the man, an employee of the “male student,” who was hired to study the “paranormal” events occurring at the school. Mai nicknames this “student” “Naru” for his narcissistic attitude. Naru owns a paranormal investigation company SPR and Mai eventually earns a part-time job at SPR after assisting with the first case. The more involved Mai becomes with Naru, the more she learns about herself and her feelings towards him.
Along with Shibuya’s assistant, Lin, the SPR also finds itself assisted by various spirit mediums and exorcists. (source: wikipedia)

I was a bit hesitant to watch Ghost Hunt, because I hate anything that is connected with the word “horror” (this may be an anime but still…) but since it has been months since I last saw one, I gave it a try.
What I can say is I like Ghost Hunt. I like how the story developed and also the “you-guess-what-should-happen-next’ kind of thing. It’s sort of a detective story but instead of murders (& the like) done by people, it’s ghost that they are after.
Watching this anime is like a breeze, how can I explain this? You see, there are a total of 25 episodes, but each file that the SPR solves runs for about 3-4 episodes, so after watching the whole thing, it will feel as if you watched the entire thing for a short time, and given that a file takes 3-4 epis. you can’t just stop randomly at some episodes. You just have to finish it – that kind of feeling.
Another thing I like is how the cases/files started from a minor one leading to something terrible (okay, i should be that way). And also I love the characters. (review ends here, sorry for the nonsense talking, lol)
One of the best animes ever. 😀
How does it feel to love the smartest and coolest guy at school (or probably the whole of Japan)? More so, how would it feel if you’ve loved him for years but your existence to him is unknown.
Itazura na Kiss is about the story of Aihara Kotoko and Irie Naoki. The story starts when Kotoko decided to confess and write a love letter to Naoki but was openly rejected in front of everybody. Naoki’s the smartest guy in school and Kotoko belongs to the lowest class(Class F).
However, things began to change when Kotoko’s house was destroyed by an earthquake and he and her father moved to a friend’s house which was later revealed to be Naoki’s house.
The story does not stop on the soon to be “relationship” between the two, but it follows their life as a married couple and new obstacles that come their way.

I super love this anime. I’ve first known its story through the series It Started with a Kiss and after watching that I’ve fallen inlove with the story.
When I’ve first watched Itazura na Kiss, I was not expecting much since I’m so familiar to the story (watched ISWAK many times). I remember the first time I’ve seen Naoki in his anime form, I don’t find him hot and good looking. Back to my review, again I was wrong because although the anime and the series were the same in a sense, the two differs (uhm, I hope you understand what I mean).
I was not bored at the anime, in fact I was surprised. I have found myself laughing at every episode. Itazura na Kiss brings out a combination of different feelings, you’ll find yourself laughing, crying, in love, agitated and the sort.
One of the best thing about this anime is its plot and the way that it was presented. You seldom see an anime that continues after the couple’s married life, ‘coz I think that if it was to be done it will be boring but Itazura na Kiss proved me wrong. The second part (which is their married life) is as exciting as their high school life, there were a lot of conflicts that urges you to continue watching and to anticipate the next episode.
Another good point of this anime is the nature of the leads. I love the characters. It’s just perfect for me the part where in a simple and (dumb) girl has captured the heart of the smartest guy in school, though it wasn’t easy for Kotoko to make Naoki fall in love with her (Naoki’s heart is made of stone, lol) but that’s what makes it interesting. I’m sure a lot of people are experiencing unrequited love (aw!).
Itazura na Kiss has touched me, especially towards the last few episodes, it’s prolly because I’ve seen the characters grow and mature (especially Naoki), it takes the anime to a whole new level, not to mention the ending song (Jikan Yo Tomare) which I absolutely love.
Though the manga’s unfinished (due to the mangaka’s untimely death), the anime’s ending was the best. After watching it you’ll say that “I couldn’t ask for more”. I so love the ending where in Kotoko, Kotomi and Naoki were happily holding hands. A perfect family picture, really could anything be more splendid?
THIS IS A MUST WATCH. This is the kind of anime that I could see myself watching again in the future.
