Wow. It has been like 2-3 years since Veronica Mars was cancelled.

I’ve been wanting to re-watch Veronica Mars for the longest time, and I’m so glad I did ♥.

For the past few days, I re-watched season’s 1-3 of Veronica Mars. And I would just like to tell that Veronica Mars is my favorite American series ever~ As in ever. Until now, nothing can ever compare to the awesomeness that is Veronica Mars🙂

So I thought I’ll do a review of the series or a post telling you why you should watch VM (this should be done years ago)

Veronica Mars used to be the popular girl with the cool friends and the jock boyfriend. A series of personal and family traumas have made her an outcast – albeit one with a sarcastic side and a snarky sense of humor. Now, she helps her private investigator father dig into the lives of the rich and famous in the messed-up town of Neptune, California (source: aol television).

The first season revolves around Veronica Mars, a high school student and private investigator in the fictional Southern California seaside town of Neptune. As the daughter of well-respected County Sheriff Keith Mars, Veronica’s biggest problem was getting dumped by her boyfriend, Duncan Kane, until the murder of her best friend Lilly Kane. After Lilly’s murder, Veronica’s life falls apart. Keith accuses Lilly’s father, popular software billionaire Jake Kane, of being involved in the murder. This provokes Neptune’s wrath and Keith’s ousting as sheriff in a recall election, replaced by Don Lamb. Veronica’s mother, Lianne, develops a drinking problem and leaves town. Veronica’s “09er” friends—wealthy students from the fictional 90909 ZIP code—force her to choose between them and her father; Veronica chooses her father. After being voted out as sheriff, Keith opens a private investigation agency, Mars Investigations, where Veronica works part-time. Veronica helps her father solve cases and conducts her own investigations on behalf of friends and acquaintances at school (source: wikipedia).

It’s a pity the show was cancelled. I mean seriously, what were they thinking?

There are shows out there that have 4+ seasons having story lines that do not even fare enough with that of VM. Though one may think that I’m speaking as a fan but bias aside, Veronica Mars is one of the greatest shows.

If only they pursued Season 4, then I would not whine this much, or if only the movie happened (or will happen) then I think I’ll be pretty much contented. But there’s nothing😦

Why (do I) love Veronica Mars? Simple. I LoVe everything about it.

Truth is, I’m not that much of a fan of American shows but from those that I’d seen they were pretty much all the same. But then there’s Veronica Mars.

I like the fact that she’s working as a Private Investigator while in high school and that she used to be one of the ‘cool people’. Also, one thing I like about her (and the show) was how she (it/they) used witty and humorous dialogue. For me seasons 1&2 were the best seasons. You’ll never get bored. Aside from Veronica’s social and love life, she has to deal with cases and the investigation of the murder of her bestfriend Lilly. Seasons1&2 have great finales, season 3 was so-so (was season 3 the reason why the show was cancelled? I don’t think so).

Then there were the boys. Haha. Joking. I meant, there were the other casts. From having a son of a billionaire for an ex, a jackass as a schoolmate, a new bestfriend, a delinquent ‘friend’, etc., I’m sure everyone will love the other characters. Good casting, really. I love how the setting of the story was in Neptune, California, where in almost all the people were rich (except for Veronica and some). IDK but I’m a s**cker for that kind of story.

Let there be LoVe ♥♥♥.

And so it came. HAHA. I’ll dedicate the last part of this post to the top reason why I love Veronica Mars. It’s all about Veronica’s LoVelife.

Duncan and Veronica = DuVe. I was rooting for this couple for almost all the duration of season 1. They were like the perfect couple. Super rich guy fell in love with a simple girl. Loyal boyfriend, handsome and all, but they broke up. Hence the opening line for most episodes in season 1 “Duncan Kane, he used to be my boyfriend“. But though it was made clear on the first episode that they already broke up, it only made me yearn seeing them together again, for theirs was the fairytale love story right? And all the while I thought they were supposed to be together ’til the end. So you can just imagine my heartache when Duncan started dating Meg. For those who have watched VM, Ruskie Business (S01 E15) was the most heartbreaking episode for me, the part of the 80’s inspired dance? That broke my heart, and it still remains as the saddest moment of VM for me.

Logan and Veronica = LoVe. I can’t even begin the love I have for this couple. Even the name’s ♥. It was unexpected, well for me (or was I ignoring the signs?). I mean Logan dated Lilly before she died, while Veronica dated Duncan, and as I already told you, I was all for Duncan and Veronica for most of S01. Then what changed? It all happened so fast, but then it was brief, but it was good while it lasted.

I thought our story was epic, you know? You and me, spanning years and continents, lives ruined, bloodshed. Epic. – Logan Echolls

Their LoVe is Epic. I could not agree more. I’m sure most (if not all) adore this couple. And why not? Logan started off as a bully, as a “psychotic jackass”, he and Veronica were friends before Lilly died, but after Lilly’s murder, Logan changed, he becomes more of an arse, especially to Veronica. Then poof, a few episodes before S01’s finale everything changed. LoVe happened. And I think it’s one of the best things that happened in the series. You gotta see it to know it, to feel the LoVe. hahahaha. That’s why season 3 was a bit disappointing (seeing LoVe on the rocks), there was no conclusion to LoVe.

I think I’ll end my spazz/review here. It feels enlightening to talk about Veronica Mars. And I hope you’ll try to watch it too, I know you’ll not regret it. Trust me.
